The City Council of Dénia has demolished part of the wall of the castle of the city in which some cracks appeared recently that advanced at great speed, assuming a great danger of collapse. It was the residents of the Les Roques neighborhood who warned of the appearance of the crack at the beginning of the wall, next to the Olivera roundabout.
The urban planning technicians carried out a follow-up and decided to act to prevent risks. For a few days, coinciding with Holy Week, some protection fences were installed, and on Thursday the affected area was collapsed, which corresponds to an addition installed when remodeling the wall. The Town Planning Councillor, Maria Josep RipollHe explained that the original wall has not been touched and that what has been demolished has no patrimonial value.
From the planning department they hope that in a couple of days the work is finished. To perform the work, the same architect who designed the renovation of the walls has overseen the work, supporting the decision to tear it down and rebuild the affected part.
