January 11 from 2013 - 00: 02

Promoting the practice of physical exercise, offering a healthy tourist offer and improving the quality of life of its inhabitants and visitors is the goal pursued by Dénia with its entry into the European Network of Healthy Cities.

And all thanks to the project of the students of the Training Cycle of Sports Activities (ADAFE) of the IES Chabàs, which has received the support of the consistory to recognize Dénia as a healthy city.

Vicente Gil, one of the drafters of the project, and Pura Higueras, professor of the cycle, explained that the objectives will be achieved through talks to schoolchildren, seniors and all types of groups to raise awareness of the importance of the practice of physical exercise daily In addition ADAFE students will protect the healthy parks that the city has to guide users in their exercises and will create the figure of the promoter of physical activity in health centers to advise people through the sports offer from the city.

Juan Carlos Signes, councilor for sport and environment of the dianense consistory, reaffirmed his support for this project, also facilitating the insertion of all the sports offer that the city has on the website of the tourism department. Signes appreciated the involvement of the IES Chabàs faculty and students, who, in addition to creating the project, have self-financed it thanks, among other things, to the 100x100 Fundació awards that the Dénia Foundation awards annually.

Vicente Gil, for his part, recalled that belonging to the European Network will allow Dénia access to the financing of the European Common Funds for the promotion of projects.

According to the creators of the project, Dénia fully meets the requirements to belong to the European Network of Healthy Cities to which 110 belong Spanish cities such as El Campello, Silla or Alicante.

It seems to me very well to make Denia a healthy city but
for that, the first thing that should be done would be to channel the dirty water of the Montgo urbanizations doing the work of alcantarrilado since they are lacking, so blind wells could be closed and streetlights put on the streets
surely if this is done we would appreciate all the neighbors
and yes we would live in a healthy and 21st century city
