Dénia reaches out to caravan tourism by eliminating an old and unfair ban

November 24 from 2021 - 12: 43

In the next ordinary plenary session, which will be held on Thursday of this week, the Dénia City Council will repair an injustice that it had been dragging for decades with the caravan owners. So much so that the city has become one of the largest black spots in the Spanish state in terms of its regulations with caravans, as stated by the councilor for citizen protection, Javier Scotto.

Caravan and camper van tourism is booming, so a city like Dénia, whose main economic engine is visitor services, must work to be a claim for this type of tourist as well. For that reason, Councilor Scotto has decided to reconcile the municipality with the users of these vehicles by eliminating a very old prohibition that had never been modified.

In a few days, the caravans will be able to park on the beachfront again, for the first time in years. To date it was completely prohibited, sanctioning anyone who left a vehicle with these characteristics in the place. Now they will be able to park again in the places enabled for it, without making any kind of differentiation.

Of course, they can park but not camp, since overnight stays have their own regulation and must be done in the places provided for it, such as in the campsites.

The presumption that the caravan parked on the beach is for camping comes to an end to consider this vehicle like any other, which one can also be used to get around.

Comments
  1. Luis says:

The law makes it very clear that they can park in the places "enabled for it" not anywhere as they do. A bunch of uncivic and vermin is what they are.

    • Miguel says:

You should be more careful with your comments because as in all communities around the world we do not have the same behavior, maybe you are right because you are still talking about your family

  2. Sammy says:

  3. Crawford says:

Why not welcome the motorhomes to Parking del Raset for two nights of parking providing fresh water and gray water disposal? Earn some money with these tourists

  4. Fernando says:

Well, in Las Rotas they were already at ease, not a fine in four years. What you have to have is areas where they do it without obstructing the passage or the best view of the landscape that we have. It is an important distortion of everyone's landscape and does not give any value but rather degrades the
Environment . One more populist mistake. By the way the
"Spanish state" translated from the Catalan nationalist language means Spain

  5. Tino Sanchez, says:

I do not know the regulations, but we have had this neglected market for a long time and contrary to what many people think, they are usually people with a high purchasing power and very aware of the environment, I insist that we should take this market into account!

    • Carmen says:

      I totally agree ,

    • Luis says:

Environmentally conscious? Driving those highly polluting vehicles? Parking them anywhere without respecting anything? Throwing your garbage and sewage in the first place you find? Is that being responsible for the environment? And the little note of the "alleged" high purchasing power, what is it about? That because people have money they have to be allowed everything? In addition, these people do not spend if they did they would go to hotels, restaurants, etc.

      • Miguel says:

I insist, you put everyone in the same bag again and you do not respect anyone, I am more and more convinced that you are talking about your family, for sure

  6. Jabo Denia says:

    This is "smoke."
It assimilates spending the night with camping and it has nothing to do with it.
The caravans have to be released from the vehicle that is dragging them, becoming an object occupying a parking space, which is not allowed.
Campers and motorhomes can park and spend the night inside as they are enabled to do so, as long as they do not protrude from the parking lot.
In addition, the concept of "camping" should be clarified because if we can park with a car, take out chairs, an umbrella, a refrigerator and set up the beach bar, why, if we do that with a motorhome / camper, are we camped?
In addition, camper / motorhomes are short-term - 2 days - because they need to empty their black and gray water. There is no argument that they park on July 1 and leave on August 31. That never happens!
    I await comments.
