Dénia will have Local Commerce Day after achieving Compromís the support of all groups

28 September 2021 - 13: 43

At the suggestion of Compromís, the Dénia City Council has agreed to support the celebration of Local Commerce Day on October 25, not only in the town, but in Valencia, in order to enhance the importance it has within a sustainable and inclusive economic model, and for being an essential element for the quality of life of our towns and cities.

As stated in the motion, signed by all the municipal groups of Dénia (PSPV, You commit, PP, Citizens and Gent of Dénia), "we want to highlight that local commerce promotes proximity sales channels, as well as zero kilometer and sales without intermediaries or direct sales. These channels make it possible to generate more personalized shopping experiences and a greater capacity to meet the different needs of local populations".

In addition, it highlights that "the role that local commerce plays within the real economy is essential for the transition of the economic model that we need and has been more evident than ever in this pandemic, since it has emphasized meeting the needs of the population , adapting to changed and unpredictable circumstances ".

Rafa Carrió, a Valencian spokesman, said that "this proposal, coming from the General Directorate of Commerce, will give rise to the organization of events, initiatives, actions and municipal incentives that will give more value to local commerce". For these reasons "we want Dénia to be a participant in the celebration of Local Commerce Day and collaborate with the Ministry and the different entities of merchants in the municipality to carry out the acts and actions that can be carried out".
