The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, yesterday asked the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergencies for new hydrants in the northern area of the Montgó, on the Camí de la Colònia, to facilitate the work of extinguishing possible fires.
Grimalt requested that resources and hydrants be provided to facilitate the speed and safety of the firefighting and forest volunteers' extinction work, a proposal that, he said, was well received by José María Ángel, general director of the Valencian Safety and Security Agency. Emergencies
The request was made during the meeting held in Xàbia on the occasion of the analysis of the action work carried out in the first two fires that this week have affected the Natural Park Montgó.
