Dénia is going to present its candidacy for the distinction "City of Science and Innovation" 2021 that is convened by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. The proposal has been presented to the plenary by the municipal group of the Popular Party and it has been supported by all groups of the Corporation.
City government spokesperson Maria Josep Ripoll, has stressed that Dénia will be able to present the report of its candidacy before next December 2, the day the term ends, "thanks to the previous task that we have done in the city council in previous years in terms of innovation and modernization ”. As examples, Ripoll cited the Dénia Smart City Plan, the Sustainable Tourism Plan and the Commerce Market Place, which will allow purchases in commercial establishments and the city's Municipal Market from an Internet platform.
And the unpaved streets, the dirty abandoned lots, the general sewage system not installed, the non-existent waste management facilities, the piles of algae piled up in the middle of the field rotting in the open, the floods everywhere, the fecal water blowouts floating in the marinas, a public Hospital that has ended up in private hands with huge waiting lists and a deficient diagnostic laboratory ... etc ... And medals are hung for two simple mobile apps that almost no one will use . If they installed, built and modernized everything described above, then they would deserve to be recognized for innovating and using science but it seems to me that that new little title that someone has invented is another empty puff to move money from one pocket to another.
