Dénia will be filled with music and cinema this summer, but with restrictions

23 June 2020 - 11: 34

The councilman of Culture, Raúl García de la Reina, has presented this morning what will be the cultural agenda for this summer. A more special agenda than ever since it means the reopening of the city to summer activities. On this occasion, with a clear commitment to outdoor settings.

According to the councilor, the City Council wants "try to maintain a little activity every week, as long as we are not thrown back into mistrust". And to start they will do so by resuming the exhibition that was suspended in March by Carles Romany, with the title Red shift, in the Center de l'Art de l'Estació from July 3 to August 30.

There will also be a great musical presence on the streets, highlighting as a great novelty the bells concert which will take place on July 7 at the Parish of the Assumption. This will be in charge of the composer and ringer Manuel Vars. One of the biggest attractions of this special concert is that it can be enjoyed throughout the town without the need to be physically in the place, so there will be no risk of contagion due to crowds.

The activities scheduled for the Bassetes park will finally be carried out in Torrecremada to ensure that the distance and capacity limits are met. In this way, there you can enjoy the performances of Spanish Brass & Carles Dénia on July 10, the opera and zarzuela recital of the Center for the Improvement of the Arts of Valencia on July 17, the concert of the quartet of saxophones Purple Pansa on July 24 and that of pianist Carmen Paula Romero and clarinetist Ángel Belda on July 31. Tickets can only be purchased digitally by INSTANTICKET at € 5 each.

Another novelty and a great commitment of the City Council to encourage the population avoiding crowds is the programming of 4 parades in charge of the Musical Artistic Association of Dénia, They will tour the neighborhoods of the city on the evenings of July 18 and 25, and on August 8, 15 and 22.

One of the most anticipated dates also returns: the Dénia Jazz Festival. It will be held again in the Torrecremada park complying with security measures. It will be on nights 6, 13, 20 and 27 of August. On this occasion, due to the health crisis, they will not carry out the previous activities such as courses and concerts in the streets of Dénia, but will limit themselves to night concerts on the main stage.

It was unclear if it would finally be done, but the Voramar Cinema will return to the beach Punta del Raset to screen family movies for free on Sunday nights. To check that the safety distance is met, there will be employees of the Occupation Plan in each projection.
