Dénia will be presented to the new call for European funds for EDUSI

20 October 2017 - 17: 57

The City of Denia will re-submit to the European call for ERDF funds to finance part of the Sustainable and integrated urban development strategy (EDUSI) of Dénia. Last spring, and by only a few points of difference, Dénia was left out of these aids, and now, after knowing that 28 million euros will go to the Valencian Community, Dénia has improved the document to be presented again.

The Territory Councillor, Maria Josep Ripoll, has explained that the evaluation of the thematic objectives has been modified, giving great importance to the one related to the promotion of social inclusion and the fight against poverty and any other form of discrimination.

The new EDUSI document that Denia is going to present, which was treated on Thursday in an informative committee before its passage through the plenary, affects this aspect and includes a line of action for the recovery of the peripheral neighborhoods as fabrics of proximity integrators .

Framed in another of the specific objectives of the proposal, the Councilor of Territory has highlighted two other lines of work. One related to the protection and enhancement of the natural heritage for the implementation of a tourism model that respects the environment and the territory, and another focused on improving the quality of the urban landscape.

The time frame of the strategy has also been extended, extending it by one year, to 2020 and increasing its budget by an 4% to cover technical assistance.

The budget to implement EDUSI is 4,3 million euros, which would be co-financed to 50% by the Feder Funds and the City of Denia if the project is selected in this new call.
