The Dénia Rugby Club returned to the path of victory that is touring this season after the small setback of the previous week where 1 lost only point against the leader CR Albacete. In the match corresponding to the sixth day of the 2ª Territorial league played in the Dénia municipal sports center, the clear victory was for the Dénia Rugby Club that was imposed on the CR La Safor by 78 to 5.
The La Safor team after a few years without competing in the senior category, is back in the federated leagues, something that is taking its toll. The whole of the Ducal City is struggling to adapt to the competition and have not yet achieved any victory this season.
Even knowing themselves favorites, the local team was motivated and focused and began to show their superiority from the first minutes. Habana opened the scoreboard and Pollo, John, Landa, Santi, Gringo and Kane followed him with well-worked trials. They linked plays in which the whole team participated, to close the score in the first part with a forceful 47 to 0.
After the break several changes were made with the intention of maintaining the intensity of the game. They jumped to the field by Dianense, Xuan, Alex Tavernes, King, Sergio and Marcos Churio who managed to score his first trial with the Dénia Rugby Club in his first season. They also scored Felipe, Leo twice and Xuan.
Sports recognition towards the CR La Safor
It seemed that he was going to finish the game with a resounding 78 to 0 but La Safor took courage and pride and scored his test at the last minute. This left a final score of 78 to 5, which showed the difference of level that exists at this moment between both formations.
Those of the region of La Safor took a severe defeat but a great ovation from the local crowd that knew how to recognize the effort and applauded this test as well as the rehearsals of their team.
With this victory and the bonus offensive point next to the defeat of the Catholic University in Albacete, the Dénia Rugby Club approaches the positions of promotion.
This Sunday the dianenses will return to play at home, where they will receive in the sports field at 12 hours, Paterna Sciences. Admission is free and the club encourages people to come to know this sport and encourage their players.
