Dénia distributes the phytosanitary product for free to combat the 'Xylella fastidiosa'

04 March 2019 - 12: 20

The Department of Agriculture, Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development puts at the disposal of Valencian farmers the necessary product to combat the vectors of Xylella fastidiosa, a bacterium that affects almond, olive, fruit, citrus and vineyard crops.

The Department of Environment of the City of Dénia collaborates in the initiative by distributing the product among local farmers. From today you can pick it up at the environment offices (Ronda de las Murallas, 42), during 11: 30 to 14 hours, Monday to Friday.

The phytosanitary product to be distributed is, in principle, for almond and olive crops. Farmers who have a plot in the infected area and submit the notification of the conselleria, may also receive a product to treat other types of crops. In addition, the recipient of the product must have a pesticide handler card. The farmers will have to bear the costs of applying the treatment.
