The Plaza de la Constitución in Dénia yesterday was filled with more than a hundred people to receive Fiamma Benítez. The Dianense soccer player returns after winning the highest recognition in her category and the title most coveted by athletes from all countries: the World Championship. That's right, Ella Fiamma managed to win the U-20 World Cup with the Spanish women's soccer team, an achievement that she well deserved a tribute to.
Residents of Dénia came to the foot of the town hall to receive the player. With her they celebrated a historic triumph, the first World Cup in her category that Spain has achieved. She achieved it in the final that served as a revenge against the Japanese team, in which they won by three goals to one.
From the balcony of the town hall, Fiamma thanked all the fans, but above all her family, friends and the school where she grew up as a footballer, and encouraged all the players to take advantage of the current opportunities that a few years ago did not exist among female players : «Follow your dreams, they come true».
