Dénia wants to attract locals to failures coinciding with Easter holidays

February 24 from 2016 - 12: 06

The Madrid public and Castilian manchego is one of the main tourist centers of Dénia, is well known. If we add to this fact the coincidence this year's week Fallas and of the Easter holidays in these two communities, it is acceptable that the efforts of the tourism department focus on attracting its citizens to our coast in the month of March.

Therefore, it has launched a campaign to promote the destination in Madrid subway, which has been supplemented with a social media campaign in the capital and in the community of Castilla-La Mancha from the city of Denia.

From March 17 to 27, Dénia is your destiny" is the motto they have in common the three different images that were distributed at stations Chamartin Metro Cuatro Caminos, Avenida de America, Nuevos Ministerios, Argüelles, Moncloa, Plaza de Spain, Nunez de Balboa, Manuel Becerra, Prince Vergara Plaza de Castilla, Cuzco, Diego de León, Goya, Bilbao, Alonso Martínez, Santiago Bernabeu, Callao and Atocha Renfe.

Each ad has a different image and an own message that conveys Mediterranean flair, quality of life and enjoy outdoor recreation.

There are more than MUCHISSIMOS in Denia especially in summer, the city is saturated! We do not need more publicity for real?

Fantastic! I lived in Madrid for a few years and I can assure you that these advertisements in the metro are seen by thousands and thousands of people a day. I myself remember one from a previous campaign. It seems to me a very positive initiative. Now ... Keep in mind that a large part of the public to whom these announcements are directed are in the habit of traveling by public transport. Many do not have their own vehicle. In fact, when you live in the center of Madrid, having a car is more of an obstacle than an advantage. I didn't have it and so do most of my friends. And there we have the problem ... HOW DID WE GET TO DENIA? my friends asked me when I was promoting my town. Well ... -I was telling them- you can come with the AVE to Valencia, or by plane to Valencia or Alicante ... AND AFTER? Well… -he answered- you have a commuter train from Valencia to Gandia or a tourist train from Alicante to Denia. AH! AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Well, the train takes 3 hours to travel 100 km and the bus from Valencia to Denia at least 2 hours. So you can imagine the astonished faces and the funny comments of my friends when they found out about the "way of the cross" that you have to do to get to the Costa Blanca. Honestly, until they solve the issue of transport to Denia with a neighborhood that a Valencia with the Costa Blanca, the usual people will continue to come. That is why these tourist campaigns are best done in La Moraleja, Pozuelo, Las Rozas ... etc. By the way, as the slogan says, your skin will crawl when you arrive by bus at your destination and set foot in our emblematic bus "station", where there are no public toilets, no docks, no lockers, no sad clock, and where the four benches that there are to sit on are always dirty and occupied by thugs and drunks. Seriously, I think it's very good that tourism tries to attract more people, but honestly there is a lot to fix if we want these people to return.

First: With the AVE, you can book directly Denia. From the station Valencia a bus that takes you directly to Denia, all on the same ticket.

Second: If Denia wants to attract locals, then Fallas descriptions need to be in Castilian rather than only in Valenciano.
