Dénia wants to move towards sustainability

The intention is clear: to make a sustainable city Dénia.

To achieve this, the 21 Local Agenda presented the new sustainability indicators for the municipality. Taking into account a study carried out by the Universidad de Valencia in 2008, they have selected a total of 23 indicators to measure and evaluate the evolution of Dénia towards sustainability:

SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

1. Motorization rate.
2. Use of public transport.
3. urban land use.
4. Surfaces of parkland.
5. Local associations.
6. Municipal Cultural offer.
7. 16-19 years young who they continue studying.
8. Subsidized housing.
9. Activities in the context of Local Agenda 21.
10. Number of meetings convened by Local Agenda 21.
11. Number of parks, gardens and recreational areas.
12. Number of people assisted by the municipal social services.

ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY

13 Local Unemployment Rate.
14. Number of commercial establishments.
15. Tourist Accommodation Occupancy.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

16. Power consumption.
17. Production of municipal waste.
18. recovered municipal waste.
19. Water consumption.
20. Number of Blue Flags.
21. Action against noise pollution.
22. Annual number of accidents and abuses in urban areas.
23. Fires that have affected the municipality.

Each year, these indicators calculated Dénia evolution towards a more sustainable scenario.
