At 20:00 on Tuesday, the most anticipated Michelin Guide gala started. The reason? Again, the event was taking place in person, since last year it had to adapt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
For the first time, the ceremony where Spain's prestigious Michelin stars are awarded has taken place in Valencia, at the Palau de les Arts, to be exact. About 600 guests again attended the event where the restaurants awarded with the highest award in gastronomy were discovered.
The event, presented by the Alicante actress Ana Milan, has had the participation of Quique Dacosta as coordinator of a team of prestigious chefs who had the mission of showing the cuisine of the Valencian Community to all who followed the gala.
Michelin stars
However, the most awaited moment was when the long-awaited Michelin stars were distributed. And Dénia has a lot to celebrate, because this year it celebrates a new Michelin star. Chef José Manuel López Iglesias, from Peix i Brases, wins the much sought after award.
In addition, once again a restaurant in the city has achieved 3 stars, the maximum that can be obtained. This is, of course, the Quique Dacosta Restaurant, one of the most recognized and exclusive in the entire country.
