Dénia will study to incorporate emergency professionals in the next local security meetings

The City of Dénia, following the recommendations launched by the Generalitat Valenciana, will incorporate professional emergency entities in local security boards such as Civil Protection, Red Cross or Social Services with the aim of working at a transversal level in case of emergency situations .

The Councilor for Citizen Security, Javier Scotto, explained to Dénia.com that they have received this week the letter from the Generalitat and considers it important to be able to incorporate municipal technicians and emergency connoisseurs in the local security boards. The City Council is currently convening these meetings once a year, and in coming weeks they will meet again.

The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, during the technical office of the local police on August 31, already highlighted the importance of "collaboration and cooperation", and that each municipality prepare work plans to specify formulas for relations with the Muslim community and coordination with social and youth services. Puig urged the consistories to draw up a map of potential risks in their municipal area and recommended holding quarterly local safety meetings related to this matter.

The general director of the Agency of Security and Emergencies, José María Ángel, explained that the consequences of a terrorist act "They fall within the scope of emergencies and civil protection, so it is convenient that, from the approach, the work plan of the security forces acting in a municipality contemplates the response that professionals involved in civil protection should give. before a terrorist attack ".

Ángel has insisted on the importance of putting on the table the resources and the capacities of the different municipal departments that should give an answer in said case "Be it civil protection, social services or the Red Cross, so that the terrorism prevention plan is as effective as possible".
