Dénia will honor, on October 9, "in solidarity and wounded" of the COVID-19

This October 9, 2020 will be special; not only because of the situation that society lives and makes it different, but also because of the atypical celebration of the Valencian Community Day.

Dénia has bet on culture, "We have to start walking. The situation this year has overwhelmed us with the cancellation of all the festivities, but on this day, we wanted to support culture and dignify this date within the possibilities that are allowed today.", has indicated the councilor of Fiestas Óscar Mengual.

But before the programming of activities and concerts scheduled for October 6 to 12, Dénia will pay tribute to all the people and groups that have collaborated to alleviate the health crisis and will remember the victims of the pandemic in he commemorative act of October 9.

The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, has explained that the act scheduled for Friday, October 9, at 18 hours, in the Plaza de la Constitución, will revolve around the symbolism of sculpture, Hearts, which the artist Modesto Marí has ​​given to the City Council "And that represents the solidarity and the heart of all those who have cared, helped and those wounded hearts that have been victims of COVID-19". Access to the event will be restricted and by invitation only, for health security reasons. They have been invited to attend a representation of the essential groups and social entities that have fought from the front line, "We would like all of them to be there, but we would not fit in the square."

As a closure to this day, it has opted for a pyrotechnic show, since this sector has also been greatly affected by the health crisis, and it will be launched at 20:30 p.m. on the Torrecremada esplanade.

Cultural programming

The Department of Festivities has organized several activities for the holidays of this bridge on October 9, supporting this sector so affected by this crisis.

The events will strictly follow the anticovid security measures with limited spaces, limited capacity, access control personnel, entrance with a mask, hydroalcoholic gel and temperature measurement and the prior reservation of tickets through the Dénia City Council website.
