November 25 from 2021 - 13: 01

Today the plenary session will take place where the Municipal action plan against seismic risk. According to the regulations of the General Plan for Safety in Emergencies of the Valencian Community, the municipalities for which earthquakes of intensity equal to or greater than grade VII are expected must draw up a municipal action plan to face this risk. This according to the European Macroseismic Scale (EMS) and for a period of 500 years.

It is an extensive plan where a structure is established for action in cases of seismic emergency. The Councilor for Citizen Protection, Javier Scotto, has highlighted the Basic Damage Assessment Unit “which would evaluate the habitability conditions of the buildings after the earthquake and the damage caused to public infrastructures, as well as the measures to be adopted ”. This unit will be made up of technicians from the local and regional Administration of various disciplines such as architects, engineers or companies supplying basic services.

Dénia appears in the list of municipalities with these forecasts with an expected intensity of 7,5. Along with this security plan, there are also the municipal plan against the risk of floods, the special plan for forest fires and the security and rescue plan in the beaches, which have already been approved by the consistory.

After its approval in full, the Municipal Action Plan against seismic risk must be approved by the Generalitat Valenciana.

But if neither they can maintain and take care of Denia or demolish a building built illegally, or clean the abandoned lots full of garbage, clean ditches and ravines etc. Now they pretend that? How much time and money wasted!
