After the incorporation of Dénia, last May, to the Spain Convention Bureau, a platform specialized in the organization of congresses and meetings at a national level, and after carrying out its first promotional actions in the sector, on Saturday February 25 Dénia Convention The Bureau received its first trip from agents specialized in the congresses and incentives sector, thanks to the collaboration of the Costa Blanca Provincial Tourism Board, which chose our municipality as the ideal destination to organize this experience.
As a complementary activity to the celebration of the 35th edition of the OPC Spain Congress (Professional Congress Organization) in Benidorm, this trip to Dénia was organized, with a program of activities designed by the Dénia Covention Bureau that was based on transmitting a general vision of our territory, the typicality of the area, the culture, gastronomy and the importance of the sea in our day to day.
At 10:00, the group from Benidorm was received by staff from the Dénia Convention Bureau at the Les Freses winery, where an introduction to the destination and the "Dénia, UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy" project was made. Next, the winery staff offered a guided tour of its facilities and after this, they unveiled three of their wines accompanied by traditional cokes from the Marina Alta.
After the gastronomic experience, the group went to the port of Dénia where they enjoyed a visit to the Cap de Sant Antoni marine reserve aboard a catamaran from the Mundo Marino company. During the journey, they were explained all the natural resources of Dénia and all the sports and nature activities that our destination offers.
After the activity at sea, the group walked along the port façade to the fishing district of Baix la Mar and from there, they went to the Els Magazinos gastronomic market, where its manager, Diana Cervera, showed them all the options offered by the space and, later, they were able to taste a menu with traditional seasonal products.
The balance of this first fam trip has been very positive since contacts have been generated for the celebration of upcoming events in the city, in times outside of the high season, which is very favorable to achieve the deseasonalization of demand.
Why do they meet in a field? Theirs would have been to take the photos in a good hotel establishment as an image of the quality of service they claim to offer and all dressed as professionals. But there in the middle of a terrace with that hiker aesthetic? What kind of congressmen do they intend to bring?
If it is the same Convention Bureau of Valencia from many years ago... I would walk with lead feet
