Dénia condemn the Islamophobic attack the Islamic Cultural Center Annor

30 March 2016 - 13: 20

Dénia City Council will condemn the Islamophobic attack suffered by the Al Annor Islamic Cultural Center in Dénia last week, following the Brussels attacks. All City Council groups have agreed to support a joint motion as a show of support "to stop these actions that incite hatred."

The events date back to March 23, when the center's facade dawned with graffiti that read "Outside Islamization" and a Celtic cross, symbol of the neo-Nazi ideology, and the DNJ signature in reference to Young National Democracy, the youth of the party ultra-right National Democracy.

The facts were denounced by the Muslim Federation of Valencia, which on behalf of the Muslim community in the area has asked "support and respect" to end these situations that incite hatred and violence.

From the City Council they affirm that "In a democratic, respectful, plural and ethical society, these and other acts of vandalism that incite violence, terrorism and hatred are intolerable and very worrying. They therefore deserve denunciation, rejection and institutional collaboration to stop them ".

Also the Circle We can Denia has joined this repulsion, condemning "forcefully the terrorist attacks in Brussels and Pakistan and so many other cities and towns that suffer daily, far from the reach of our ears, expressing our solidarity to the families of the innumerable innocent victims with absolute sadness and rejection of these acts of war."
