The ninth edition of the classical music cycle Dénia Clàssics will begin next Friday 27 in January. As has been the case for three years, the concerts will take place at the Social Center on the last Friday of each month, from January to April. This year, given the economic situation, the organization of the cycle, by Josep Vicent Giner, has relied on the most renowned regional musicians to fill a program whose quality and variety stand out, and thanks to what has been collected in the lockers and as planned, will be self-financed.
The first concert will be carried out by the "Al Vent" Metal Quintet, made up of musicians from the Marina Alta, which will offer an innovative program, entitled "American music amb transfons programàtic".
The concert of the month of February will be held on 24 day, and will feature the only artist from outside our borders that is part of this year's program, Oliver Kern, German pianist professor at the Hamburg Higher School and winner of the Beethoven Competition in Vienna, one of the most prestigious in the world. Kern will offer a concert of virtuoso music for piano in the living room with works by Schubert, Chopin and Liszt.
On Friday 30 March will be held the third concert, perhaps the most important of the cycle as it will coincide with the celebration of the 400 years of the title of city of Dénia, so the Quintet of Corda The festival will center its repertoire on Baroque authors along with the voices of the soprano Silvia Peña and the mezzo-soprano Adriana García.
The fourth and last concert of Dénia Clàssics will be held on April 27, and will be borne by the baritone Carlos López and guitarist Vicent Ballester. They will interpret pieces by F. Sor, I. Albéniz and Manuel de Falla.
From the Department of Culture, both Pepa Font, councilor, as Maribel Font, technical, have stressed that it is an ambitious program in terms of parts but adjusted in the budget, which is around the 9.000 euros.
