The Dénia City Council campaign to celebrate Valentine's Day in the municipality will defend "universal, equal and diverse love" by disseminating "relationship models in which self-love and love for others prevail, beyond ideologies, beliefs and cultural stereotypes and social; banishing the concept of romantic, toxic, sexist and LGTBIphobic love”, has announced the mayor of Equality and Diversity, Javier Scotto.
The Dianense Department of Equality and Diversity, in charge of the initiative, has prepared the posters and the videos that will be broadcast from today until February 19 invite you to live love without prejudice about sex, gender, age or color; all under the slogans "day of free love", "day of diverse love" and "day of equal love".
The councilor points out that the choice of this date responds to the connection of the celebration with stereotypes and outdated models, for which an attempt is made to "make love the key to coexistence in equality, diversity and inclusion of all generations". . Therefore, it is invited to love others in a framework of equality and diversity in love relationships, but also in friendships, that is, love in all its formats and variants.
At the advertising level, the campaign will be carried out on social networks and on urban media, with videos and posters to disseminate the values of equality and diversity that must prevail in all sexual affectivity to avoid relationships of possession, dominance or intolerance. This campaign is financed by the Government of Spain through the Pact against gender violence.
The council wants to reach the largest number of people, always trying to integrate those sectors of the population that suffer any type of discrimination, such as the LGTBIQ+ collective, the elderly or people of color, to destigmatize their image through awareness.
