Dénia seeks to reduce energy consumption with a new contract for public lighting and traffic lights

01 March 2023 - 12: 17

The Dénia Town Hall has awarded the company SITELEC Global de Servicios y Obras SL the contract for energy services and maintenance of outdoor public lighting installations, traffic lights and sports facilities in the municipality for the next 15 years, with the aim of reducing consumption total installations at about 2.455.000 kilowatt hours. This action is considered essential, not only because of the considerable energy and economic savings it entails, but also because of the added benefits for citizens, improving street safety by reinforcing lighting at pedestrian crossings and other light-deficit points, and the reduction of emissions of polluting gases into the atmosphere, quantified in 635 tons of C02 less emitted to the environment.

During these months, a total of 5.569 light points in outdoor lighting and 341 points in municipal sports facilities will be replaced. In addition, 197 control panels will be adapted to which a remote management system will be installed to optimize time and resources. The monitoring equipment that will be installed in each panel allows absolute control of the operation of the installation, which enables, among other functions, automatic supervision of electrical variables, allowing a faster response to any incident that occurs.

Coinciding with the beginning of the public lighting renovation work, the city council wanted to provide a free service to its neighbors so that they can understand their electricity bills, since, according to the OCU, only 11% of users You fully understand your bills. Many ignore, for example, the type of contract they have (PVPC or free market), the conditions of each of them or the concepts that are included in the invoice.

For this reason, the Dénia Town Hall, through the winning company, offers citizens the free possibility of clarifying doubts and trying to make them, as far as possible, pay less for the electricity service.

This traveling information service, the "Caravan of light", will be provided in Dénia from March 20 to 24.

The "Caravan of Light" will be installed on La Vía street to serve users, without the need to request an appointment. The opening hours are as follows:

I hope that this new contract also means the replacement, which by the way was not being carried out now, in those areas that are further from the center.
I am referring to the area of the Maria Ibars Institute… or the area of the Hotel Daniya where streetlights and also the sidewalks shine even due to their absence….

Totally agree, please include all Las Marinas, which is horrible and dangerous, because they also do not fix the "sinkholes", it is patched in an "indecent" way
