Dénia announces the projects to which it will allocate part of the surplus of 7 million

28 March 2022 - 15: 23

The Councilor for Economic Services has presented today the data of the settlement of the Dénia City Council budget for the year 2021. With total income of 63.682.434 euros and total expenses of 56.436.438 euros, the settlement shows a surplus of 7.245.995. 28.789.049 euros and a cash balance of 22,4 euros, of which XNUMX million euros correspond to cash balances.

These results from last year correspond, on the one hand, to lower spending than initially budgeted, which is accompanied by an increase in expected income. Roselló has cited as examples the reduction in spending on current goods and services, "of the 25 million budgeted, we have spent 19, which implies a saving of 25%). The same has happened with the financial expense, forecast at 1.078.000 euros and which has finally been 902.000 (a 15,8% saving).

Regarding investments, the real execution in 2021 has been 76%, according to the councilor. There was a budget of 16 million euros, of which 6,9 million euros correspond to investments from the Pla Edificant of the Generalitat Valenciana. Therefore, the investment budget to be executed by the local government was 9.038.000 euros, of which 4.866.000 have finally been executed. To this figure it must be added that this year projects awarded in 2021 but that had not been invoiced, amounting to 1.993.000 million euros, are incorporated into the remainder. The sum of both concepts reveals that investments have been made amounting to 6.860.000 euros of the 9 million planned, that is, 76% of the total.

With regard to income, indirect taxes, specifically the construction tax (ICIO) have increased by 60% in 2021, going from 1,3 million euros budgeted to 2168.000 euros paid. The collection of current rates has also experienced an increase of 10%, finally being 13 million euros.

In relation to what will be the destination of the remaining treasury, Paco Roselló has pointed out that 2.178.584 euros are going to be allocated to new investments such as the Museu de la Festa (€300.000), the renovation of the Madrigueres track (€110.000), the construction of a themed slide park (€100.000), or an urban circuit for runners and another for bicycles.

Social spending occupies an important section in investments with the remainder of the treasury and increases notably. 150.000 euros will be allocated to social spending; 100.000 euros to create an initial budget item for a municipal housing stock and 50.000 euros more to the budget for trade and market aid.

Once again, the Carretera de las Marinas abandoned and forgotten by the Denia City Council.
Another year paying taxes and we continue without receiving any improvement.

  2. verwenza dais says:

Let's see, last year we paid €125 in urban waste tax, this year 2022, we are going to pay €140!!!! and they are here announcing that there is a surplus? really? So why the heck are taxes going up? To spend it in the “Museo de la Festa”? This is how it goes, we will be poor, but the waste that is not lacking, total if next year there is not, then taxes are raised again and that's it.

  3. Joaquin Perez-Sanchez says:

Take a walk along Cami dels Lladres street, they have put speed bumps in all the surrounding streets, and in this one where some cars pass at 100Km per hour they have it without speed bumps, to protect pedestrians

  4. Nieves Pamies says:

I thought I heard on the radio that Dénia was one of the most indebted towns in the Marina Alta. Surplus and debt, are they compatible?

  5. Luis says:

This councilman with that expression of "partier with surplus" does not give a damn about Denia. IF he cared, he would work to solve all the points indicated by the comments because you only have to walk around Denia to see them, they are not hidden or difficult to find. If they don't, it's because it gives them so much.

  6. Carmen Alvarez says:

The Las Marinas road is a constant danger for pedestrians. THERE ARE NO SIDEWALKS, only discontinuous pieces. How can you walk along narrow shoulders with baby strollers, small children, or elderly people?
Less Festero Museum and more look for the safety of people.

  7. Lucia says:

Please do not forget to repair the sidewalks that are in a deplorable state. It is a danger due to the falls that older people have and not so much. And also for a matter of image. I myself have fallen a couple of times due to the state of the same. And I have filed a claim and nothing.

  8. sea font says:

And the asphalt of the coll de Pous road? They have only done a small stretch. There is no lighting, in Marquesa 3 we do not have lighting, sewage or garbage collection. Why do we have to pay Ibi if we don't have any service? It's a complete abandon

  9. Manuela says:

And when will the canes be cut and a sidewalk made so that pedestrians can pass next to the brisas fair? it is embarrassing that there are also no lampposts with light only those of the urbanization the happiness that we pay all the taxes and very expensive, also without containers to recycle plastics etc, I am talking about calle assagador de San pere

    Thank you

  10. Ana says:

And when will the paving and lighting of the old path of Denia Gandía from the Basott to the tollinero?.Ana

  11. Fernando says:

And when will a network of bike lanes allow us to do without the car in a city that meets all the requirements to be used 365 days a year???
And start asking the Three Wise Men for public toilets and showers on the beach.

  12. Paloma says:

Does social spending occupy an important section???? in investments with the remainder of the treasury and it increases notably????

And… 150.000 euros are going to be allocated to social spending???
Are you kidding???? Or teasing us???

Of course, for the Festero Museum, which seems to be twice as important, twice the money will be allocated. Of course!

  14. Yo says:

I agree with the two previous comments and I wonder… Has anyone come up with the idea of free parking closer to the city center?

  15. MIP says:

Will the politicians of the Ayto de Denia ever read these comments?
I have the answer NO. They continue to work for those who vote for them and not for ALL taxpayers.
Indeed, I agree with the previous comment. When will the infrastructures be improved? Sidewalks, missing trees, streetlights that don't work, flood prevention... why insist if it's going to fall on deaf ears...
    NOW IT IS OK !!!

    • Ignacio says:

"Why insist if it's going to fall on deaf ears..."...that is, let's not talk, let's not comment, let's not question because it's no use? What is useless is lowering one's head, shutting up and granting, an excellent technique of silence and censorship that is precisely what leads to our society being the way it is. We are already in 2022 and it is time to overcome certain behaviors more typical of mentalities from other centuries.

      • Luis says:

Here at least you can comment not as in other media, also publicly subsidized that the option to do so has been directly canceled. That is a bias against freedom of expression. IF you don't like citizens to comment yourselves. Also let's take for example the big newspapers where you can comment quietly. IF it could not be done, we would be at the level of North Korea. Are the comments annoying, gentlemen?

      • Alice says:

Couldn't they allocate some of that surplus for lighting and sidewalks on the Las Marinas highway?
        It's third world!

  16. Ignacio says:

And nothing for infrastructure improvement and maintenance? One can speak of a surplus when everything is done and there is money left over, not when it simply has not been done. Of course there is plenty like this and they announce that they spend it on more elements for the tourist party theme park. Being able to invest more, they separate only 150.000 in social spending.
