Dénia reaches the extreme risk of contagion after the incidence of the coronavirus skyrockets

16 July 2021 - 09: 22

The new coronavirus data update by municipality is not at all optimistic with the situation in the region of La Marina Alta, which continues to increase its incidence without being able to remedy it.

The Marina Alta has added 292 new cases of coronavirus since Tuesday, exceeding 11.000 infections for the first time since the pandemic began to stand at 11.060. Currently, there are 733 active cases, so the cumulative incidence continues to increase to 429,60 infections per 100.000 inhabitants.

This leaves the region in a more than worrying situation, since it remains at extreme risk of contagion without any hint of growth slowing down. What's more, more and more cases are being registered on a daily basis. In fact, all the coastal towns of the Marina Alta, except Els Poblets, are already at extreme risk of contagion, accounting only for the data of their municipality.

It also happens in Dénia, which reaches the highest risk level of the pandemic for the first time after adding 48 new positives. The municipality has 122 active cases right now, so the incidence has skyrocketed to 284,87 infections.
