The Governing Board has agreed to award the Animal Protection Association of Dénia (APAD) the contract for the service of collection, transport, maintenance, removal of carcasses and management of adoptions of abandoned or wandering companion animals through the Comprehensive Center for Animal Care (CIAA) for being the entity with the highest score in the open tender procedure.
The contract will last 4 years, extendable for one more year, and has been awarded for the amount of 285.924,12 euros without VAT.
The councilman of Interior, Javier Scotto, recalled that the characteristics of the contract that the city council has put out to tender and has now been awarded to APAD is a complete declaration of intent on the part of the city council, since, "For the first time, Dénia will go from having a kennel to having a comprehensive animal care center where, very importantly, zero slaughter will be implemented".
