Dénia will activate a protocol of action to avoid more fines for urban development

May 29 from 2018 - 11: 02

The Commission of Inquiry created from the last sentences that force the City Council to pay several tens of millions of euros for urban development has ended.

This commission, chaired by Alex Rodenkirchen, has had Óscar Mengual (PSPV); María Mut (PP); Vicent Crespo (Compromís) and Miguel Llobell (GDCU) on behalf of the opposition. All of them have worked together to try to clarify the facts, which date back to 1997, when land expropriations began in what is known as Finca de la Baronesa to build the current Ramón Ortega avenue.

It should be recalled that last December 2016 the City Council reported three sentences totaling 15 million euros to which it had to face. It is the largest of them, which amounts to 12 million euros, which has led to this investigation.

Conclusions

The commission has concluded that the governments that have passed through the City Council since 1997 have fallen into a series of "vices" that have led to the current situation, which is why they have proposed the creation of an action protocol that involves inventorying the reserves of use that the City Council currently has and following a series of guidelines so that these extreme situations do not happen again. It also proposes the creation of a commission that meets every six months to control urban development.

The chairman of the commission of inquiry has highlighted the teamwork that has been done, leaving aside the political colors, and thanked the work of all members of this committee.
