11 December 2017 - 07: 37

This Monday, December 11, dawns with the yellow alarm decreed in Dénia and the Marina Alta due to strong gusts of wind. From midnight to 15:00 p.m., the State Meteorological Agency forecasts winds of up to 80 km/h throughout the area that could exceed 90 km/h in some points.

The orange alarm is also decreed by coastal phenomena, with southwest wind force 7 to 8 and waves from 3 to 4 meters also up to 15: 00 hours.

From the service of attention to the citizens of the 112 of the Generalitat Valenciana they recommend to review the houses so that there are no cornices, balconies and facades in bad state that can produce falls of rubble and rubble;
close doors and windows to avoid drafts that can lead to glass breakage and fall; secure elements such as awnings, blinds and antennas; and remove pots, cages and any object that may fall to the street.

In the street or the field, it is recommended not to leave if it is not necessary; get away from old houses or in poor condition; avoid walls and billboards; do not go through parks or tree-lined avenues, since the trees offer the danger of falling and breaking large branches; and do not go under scaffolding or buildings under construction, since light poles and high voltage towers are very dangerous.

On the road, it is recommended not to drive if possible; reduce the speed to safety limits, since a blow of wind can deflect the trajectory; and if necessary, stop in a safe area and wait for the wind to subside.
