The course of psychology of the UNED approaches the therapies of third generation

The center associated to the UNED of Dénia received with great success of assistance, last week, the course Let's talk about Psychology II, in which different professionals of high prestige and recognized trajectory approached Third Generation Therapies, which have a functional and contextual perspective of psychological disorders.

The first day began with the conference of Cuca Ybarra Huesca, transpersonal psychologist, who explained the therapy of acceptance and commitment, ATC. The second lecture was given by Alicia Más Mut, psychologist, pedagogue and teacher-tutor UNED Dénia, which was based on behavioral activation therapy for the treatment of depression. To end the day, we counted on Mª Dolores Martínez Hernández, psychologist and specialist in group intervention with victims of gender violence, who presented cognitive therapy based on Mindfulness.

The second day, held on Friday 23, began with the conference given by Joaquín Noguera Poquet, psychologist and university expert in stress, aging and neurodegeneration, who presented techniques for the control of activation based on relaxation and breathing.

The course ended with the participation of Teresa Ros Peralta, creator of the REDIS method; María Sendra Fillol, psychologist and co-creator REDIS method; and Maite Ahuir Roselló, specialist in clinical psychology, integrative therapist and REDIS methodology therapist. In this last intervention they presented the REDIS representational contextual psychotherapeutic methodology, with a practical realization of the therapy.

As a summary of the theory given during the two days, Carmen More Llull, psychologist, teacher-tutor UNED Dénia and coordinator of this course concluded stating that "Third generation therapies are highly effective, so that people not skilled in psychology can understand their importance, I like to explain it by making the following comparison: These therapies are more successful for the treatment of behavior than any diet detox can be for the intestine".
