The Department of Culture of the Ajuntament de Dénia and the Teamorfosis Association launch the first contest of short dramatic texts, Teatre Curt.
The objectives are to encourage creativity among the youth of the Marina Alta, promote the exchange of ideas, create a forum for social expression and cultural exchange and encourage live shows.
The event was presented today at City Hall by the Councilor for Culture, Pepa Sivera, the president of Teamorfosis, Juan Luis López and the actress Inma Sancho, from the Montgó on Stage Association, who collaborates in the organization.
Sivera has indicated that the playwriting contest is divided into two categories. One for school-aged participants, of 12 to 18 years studying in a school in the Marina Alta or not study but are registered in the region and meet 18 years before December 31 2015. The other category is aimed at anyone over age.
Awards
They will receive the first prize classified and each category finalist in the categories of texts written in Castilian and Valencian. The first prize in the school category, both in Valencian and Castilian, receive 150 euros in cash, a lot of books and a trophy.
In the case of adults, the first place is equipped with 150 euros, a trophy and a travel voucher for two people to any destination of the shipping company Baleària. The finalists will receive a prize of 100 euros and a batch of books.
The original deadline ends on January 10 names of the winners will be announced on January 17.
The contest dramatic texts is the first phase of this call complete with the assembly and representation of the winning entries. Juan Luis Lopez stressed that this second staging of the winning entries "It has a very important pedagogical factor and is an injection of encouragement and cultural motivation"For participants.
Works on March 28 2015 be represented on the occasion of World Theater Day at the Social Center of Denia. The audience will vote on the best editing, best actor and best actress of the evening.
The school works category will be staged by the theater group TeChabàs. The adult category may be represented by groups proposed by the authors or, if they do not have that option, the Teamorfosis Association will manage the group put on stage the play.
