The Red Cross will not be responsible for the surveillance of the beaches of Dénia for "not being able to assume the specifications" of the City Council

19 2022 April - 15: 18

It has happened again. For the second time in the recent history of the beaches of Dénia, the Red Cross will not be in charge of the surveillance and relief service. Or so it seems. But this time not for losing the tender as it happened, between controversy, in 2016, but this time directly they do not even present themselves to the contest.

Tomorrow is the deadline for submitting applications to win the City Council contract to perform the surveillance and relief service on the beaches of Dénia. And, although it is not public yet, we already know of a great absentee: the Red Cross.

As was the case in 2016, the Red Cross province does not see it economically profitable to assume this service. "We cannot present ourselves at a loss," the president of the Dénia Red Cross, Eduardo de la Morena, declares to this newspaper, who blames the bases of the statement for the decision made by the NGO.

According to the president, they have rejected the application since the specifications did not comply with the conditions they considered, despite having been updated after being challenged for the first time. In his departure, according to De la Morena, the current minimum interprofessional salary was not taken into account, something that was attempted to be corrected with the second statement. With this update, there will be fewer resources to try to make up for the increased wages. Also, this year the budget has almost 200.000 euros more than in the previous contract, according to the councilor for Beaches, Pepe Doménech. However, it is not enough for the Red Cross, since they do not want to provide a deficit service or for their partners to assume the losses of the beaches, when "at this time there are areas that require more of their help."

It is a decision that they have taken "very reluctantly", says the president of the Red Cross, and that he has personally transferred to the mayor, Vicent Grimalt. It remains to be seen if other companies have been submitted to the contest whose term ends tomorrow or is deserted, but everything seems to indicate that Dénia will be left without the service of the NGO.

I would like to comment on some of the private companies that occupy beaches in our region , they are a disaster , my nephew works for one of them and they exploited him , they told them some things and then they did not comply with anything they said , nothing happy came out of it . In addition, with very bad work schedules, the CITY COUNCIL applies it to see if they believe that one of these companies takes care of our coastline

RED CROSS IN BEACHES PLEASE!!!!! We cannot leave the beaches of Denia to private companies that are not trustworthy, it has already happened once, do not make the same mistake

I'm just saying that Denia loses a lot that the red cross is not on its beaches for all the tourism that there is, it's something important Red Cross has a name. Last year they made more than 4.000 assists without regretting any lives. It is not the same that Red Cross attends you or a private company attends you, for example Eulen, it is something serious that this happens. It should not be allowed.

It would be very sad if it was Cruz Roja
    is a guarantee for safety,
It would be a loss for everyone, and more so with all the tourism that Dénia has

Last year we had a problem and we called the emergency telephone number... and when we saw that he did not come... we notified the vigilsntr and the Red Cross attended us and took us in their ambulance from the post to the LaMarina Hospital... we stayed for an 1 hour waiting for the emergency

In all the parts cook beans. The RED CROSS, she has always been a guarantee... Perhaps the Ecmo. Municipality of Denia
You should consider it, as it is a security issue; I could look to subtract it from other more banal topics at this point.
I'm sure that Mr., excuse me, His Excellency Mr. Grimalt will take it into consideration.
    Hello .

People do not know the Red Cross, they only move for money and profitability. They live off stories, subsidies, unhappy partners, etc. and even on top of that they have free employees who don't even receive training. In Orense they do agreed interviews to cover a job that has already been given previously. Pathetic.

Typical tricky comment from someone illiterate and vindictive, it can only come from someone mediocre and not very empathic with society.

      • Manuel says:

I don't think you have to question the previous comment, since if they want to charge, they must be listed as a company and not as an NGO.
