The Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Gloria Calero, accompanied by the Government subdelegate in Alicante, Araceli Poblador, visited Dénia on Tuesday to learn about the work that Costas is carrying out in the beaches of the municipality to alleviate the damage caused by stormy glory.

Accompanied by the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the Councilor for Beaches, Pepe Doménech and the councilors of the government team Javier Scotto y Óscar Mengual, the Government delegate visited some areas of Les Rotes such as Punta Negra, the Les Rotes ravine, next to the Sendra restaurant, and the Paseo de la Marineta Cassiana.

The Government delegate recalled that the investment allocated by the ministry to these repair works in Dénia is 205.000 euros and that the performances will be finished for the start of the summer season on July 1. Calero also indicated that "everything is being arranged in a very natural way, giving back to the sea what is his and recovering spaces for people".

As reported by the head of the Alicante Provincial Coastal Service, Rosa de los Ríos, the emergency works carried out are the repair of flaws on the Les Rotes promenade; the sealing of cavities caused by sea erosion and aggravated by the last storm on the Punta Negra beach and the recovery of the maritime-terrestrial public domain by removing all concrete elements in the Les Rotes ravine, "gaining space towards the sea".

Also, the demolition of the viewpoint of the Marineta Cassiana promenade located in front of the English Cemetery, which was damaged by the passage of Gloria, is being carried out, which will allow "return space to this beach", and, finally, the recirculation of the sand that with the storm reached the mouth of the Racons river and that is now being recovered to make a dune cordon that protects the beach from Les Deveses of the storms. On this beach, Rosa de los Ríos has indicated, before the state of alarm, the removal of scattered debris had already been carried out.
