17 short films make up the programming of the RiuRau Film Festival 2017

This Friday, 15 in September, will start in Jesus Pobre the sixth edition of the RiuRau Film Festival, the international short film festival to be held, until this month's 23, in three different venues.

This year's festival program includes more than 380 short films, 316 of which are Spanish. The remaining 64s come from 16 countries, United States (8), Canada (2), Argentina (7), Brazil (3), Mexico (15), Mexico Australia (1), Ecuador (11), Denmark (6), Qatar (1), India (2), Romania (1), Cuba (1), and Bulgaria (2).

The RiuRau Film Festival is made up of the sections Film LGTBI, Film de Danza and Fiction Film. To these sections are added the short films section of the Escola de Cinema riurau and two additional sections, the Junior Section and Immigration Film.

The festival will open on Saturday the 16th in the Torrecremada Gardens in Dénia with the sections of Immigration Film and a second part of Fiction and Escola Riurau de Dénia.

On Sunday, following the forecast of rain on Friday, the session scheduled in the riurau of Jesus Pobre with projections of Film of Dance, Film LGTBI and a part of Film of Fiction will be held.

On Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23, the RiuRau Film Festvial will screen at the Riurau d'Arnauda de Xàbia Film of the fiction the first day and the rest of films of Fiction, Section Junior and Riolau School of Xàbia the second. All projections will begin at 21 hours.

The short films received, after selection, go to the competition, opting for the prizes of the different categories awarded by a specialized jury. At the end of the projections, the prizes for the special sections for each day will be awarded in Jesús Pobre (Dance and LGTBI) and Denia (Best Director and Immigration) and at the end of the 23rd in Xàbia / Jávea, the Fiction awards ceremony will take place. , Junior and students of l'Escola de Cinema Riurau, The Festival also has the collaboration of Baleària for the Film Junior Prize.

IV International Meeting of Film of Dance and LGTBI

Parallel to the festival, as in previous years, the festival will IV International Meeting of Film of Dance and LGTBI organized by the Coreogràfic center of Dénia which will take place in the Plenary Hall of Jesus Poor on the day September 15 to those of 11 to 14 hours and will have the participation in the round table of Carmen Sánchez Ruano and of Maria Roge and will have Anna Perles, that will exercise of moderator.

In addition, Film Workshops the days will also take place this year 20 and September 21 from 18 to 21 hours, consisting of a basic screenwriting, filming and editing workshop for all those who want to get closer to discovering how to make home movies. The workshop will be led by Professor Pablo Jurado and Marta Lorenzi, from l'Escola de Cinema Riurau.

El RiuRauFilm Festival is organized by the RiuRau School of Cinema Association (ECRR), the Department of Culture of the City of Xàbia and its councilor Quico Moragues; the Neighborhood Council of Jesus Pobre and its mayor, Javier Scotto, and the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Denia, Rafa Carrió.
