The Dénia City Council has committed this morning with the Dénia Municipal Football School (EMF) to execute and finance the improvement works of the building where the office of the Rodat football field is located for this year 2023. This has been done communicated the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, to the director of the school, Juanjo Palacios.
The actions are budgeted at 150.000 euros, on account of the remaining treasury for the year 2022. The preliminary study of the project has been promoted by the EMF Dénia, whose representatives have presented it today to the mayor and the Sports councillors, Raül Garcia de la Reina ; of Economic Services, Paco Roselló; and of Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, obtaining the commitment to finance the actions.
The office building is located on a strip of paved land located to the east of the playing field, where other constructions that are part of the football field equipment are also located, such as toilets, a sports equipment store, a bar and a storage facility for irrigation.
The projected works include, on the one hand, the renovation of the administration building, with the aim of improving its accessibility and habitability, functionality and safety.
Currently, it is accessed by overcoming three steps, a physical obstacle that will disappear with the works that will provide the facility with adequate accessibility conditions. The access to the building will also be relocated, completely separating it from the bar space, since currently the entrance to the office and the bar's dining room share space under the same cover, which means that users and clientele mix. Finally, the reform works will solve the deficiencies in terms of energy efficiency and health problems due to the humidity that the building currently suffers.
On the other hand, to meet the current needs of the school and offer better service to users, an extension of the building will be undertaken, occupying the free building space that is located to the north of the office and the empty space resulting from the demolition. part of the adjoining sports equipment store. The part of the warehouse that contains the irrigation pump and the electrical and drive panels will be preserved and rehabilitated. Likewise, the facades will be adapted to improve the overall image of the building in which the office is located.
The extension will allow the creation of a meeting room, with capacity for 25-30 people, which can also be used as a multipurpose room and has independent access, directly connected to the outside. Likewise, space will be enabled to accommodate three jobs in the office space, currently there are two.
Comprehensive modernization proposal
The representatives of the Municipal Football School have proposed at the meeting that the council develop a comprehensive action to modernize the stands, changing rooms and field warehouses. Based on this proposal, the Dénia City Council will work in the coming months on a preliminary project that modernizes one of the few fields in the Valencian Community that is located in the urban nucleus of a population.
As the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, has indicated, “base football, like the rest of the municipal sports schools, have our full support. We must invest efforts and resources to give boys and girls optimal conditions for the practice of sport, since only then will we promote it.
