Condenados al Bordillo prepares to enjoy the summer with a wide range of activities

01 July 2021 - 10: 04

Bathing on the beach, group work or hiking and respite are the activities that, one more summer, the Facing the association Edging offers in its program "Enjoying Summer 2021".

This program aims to offer a series of activities to the group of people with different abilities, with the aim of promoting their personal autonomy and giving their families a little respite.

The program, which aims to give continuity in the summer period to the activities carried out throughout the year, begins on July 5 and will end on August 31. More than 50 people with different abilities and ages participate in it, all of them users of the association, in addition to several volunteers and 10 workers, six of them with disabilities.

The program offers the following activities:

  • Team work: Practice of different adapted sports modalities and activities focused on developing manual and social skills. They will be practiced at IES Maria Ibars, in groups divided into nuclei and every day of the week from 9,30 a.m. to 13.30 p.m.
  • Bathrooms on the beach: At Lóleo Eventos, Punta del Raset and with the collaboration of the Dénia Red Cross, an adapted bathroom service will be offered in the afternoons for users who travel in wheelchairs. For this, use will be made of the amphibious vehicles available to the beaches Denia.
  • Hiking and respites: Tours of different points of Dénia, such as the greenway o the Montgo and, if the situation allows it, some weekend respite.

The activities will take place in various places, but mainly at the IES Maria Ibars in Dénia.

Once again, this project is possible thanks to the collaboration of different entities such as the Denia City Council, the Marqués de Dos Aguas Foundation and several individuals.

Thanks Manolo, my husband has the card and puts it in the car, but the problem You, as I know what it is, nobody controls or finds out if they can be in places for the disabled, who has to control this? If you do not call the Police, she is not there (and calling her I do not know when she would come) and while she is going to suffer and spin around in shame

    Good morning Horten.
I feel totally identified with you, I have been spending the summer in Denia for more than 50 years. The same thing happens to you, the places reserved for us, people with reduced mobility, are always occupied. There is a solution, you can Park in the blue zone, without having to pay any money, as long as you have a valid parking card for people with reduced mobility, and put it on the windshield of the car, which is clearly visible. However, I recommend that if you see Some person in charge of parking per hour, let him know, for when he passes, do not give him a ticket. I hope it will be useful to you.

I have lived in Denia for years and lately it is terrible, the parking spaces for the disabled are always occupied by people who say it is a little while others who put the indicators on you and others who simply park because it is easier for them and if they do not put more interest to people. That this corresponds to them gives laughter or better pain. My husband has a disability and I know very well what I am talking about. I would be more than calling the police when it happens to us that it is always but he protests with me but goes around until he finds a parking lot. I think it's good about the schools but until these children drive there is much that we do with those who drive these days ………. what solution is going to be given ...

Someone can give a solution to this great problem especially for those who suffer it every day.
