The City of Dénia has announced the name of the woman who will recognize the next March 8, International Women's Day. This year the distinction will be for Concha Ballester, guitar teacher of the Tenor Cortis Conservatory of Dénia and artistic director of the International Music Week of Dénia from 1999.
Concha Ballester began her official musical training with Joaquín Boscá, playing the piano but with her mind on the guitar. Years later he enrolled in the Conservatory of Alicante in the company of his brother Vicente, renowned guitarist, where he finished the higher studies of music.
After graduating in the year 1983 he joined the Conservatory of Music Tenor Cortis of Denia, where he currently still working team.
In his own words, it has been in this center where he has had "the most beautiful opportunity that exists: to train children and young people of all ages". Currently he combines this work with poetic-musical recitals in the company of the poet Francisco Cejudo.
Concha Ballester will receive a tribute next Monday 9 in March in the Plenary Hall of the City of Dénia.
