In order to be eligible to participate in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed with funds from the European Union, the Ministry of Finance establishes the obligation of all decision-making entities to have an "Anti-Fraud Measures Plan" that makes it possible to guarantee that , in its scope of action, the corresponding funds have been used in accordance with the applicable regulations, in particular, regarding the prevention, detection and correction of fraud, corruption and conflicts of interest.

In that sense, and after Compromís register a motion requesting the creation of a Public Integrity and Good Governance Plan, the Councilor for Finance, Paco Roselló, has shared with the group a draft of the Anti-Fraud Measures Plan of the Dénia City Council with which it is working, a requirement for Dénia to access European funds.

The Compromís spokesperson in the City Council, Rafa Carrió, has been satisfied with the draft of the plan, although he has expressed to the Councilor for the Treasury his willingness to make explicit in the document some of the proposals of the Compromís motion. And it is that, the Valencianists, requested that there be an Anti-Fraud Commission in charge of ensuring compliance with this plan "on a permanent basis, and not temporary or linked only to this process of accession to European funds, but also in charge of always shaping the fight against fraud and corruption, transmitting to citizens a municipal management based on high standards of honesty, honesty and oriented to the proper use of public resources.

According to Carrió, “as we commented to the councillor, in the motion we emphasize the importance of developing this Plan in the most transversal, democratic and participatory way possible, establishing the representation of all political groups in this permanent commission, in addition to the appropriate technical staff and the government team.

Likewise, the importance of drawing on the materials and advice on this matter offered by entities such as the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency (AVAF) and the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), and of publishing the final version of the Plan in the municipal website, as well as on all the platforms and social networks in which the City Council participated.

“We think that a plan of these characteristics was necessary not only to fulfill the obligation of the ministry to access the funds, but also to reaffirm before the citizens the commitment to maintain a high level of legal, ethical and moral quality, and adopt the principles of integrity, impartiality and honesty in the management of public resources” said the mayor, referring to the agreement to disseminate this position as much as possible with an institutional declaration of the corporation.
