Compromís per Dénia proposes to create a fixed covered space for festive and cultural events in Torrecremada

28 March 2023 - 11: 24

Compromís per Dénia has presented its program on festive culture, which includes a series of proposals to promote cultural events and activities. Among them, the creation of a fixed multipurpose space on the Torrecremada esplanade stands out, which would be protected from the weather and would allow all kinds of festive and cultural events to be held.

As stated Rafa Carrió, candidate for mayor for Compromís, "the associative and festive fabric of Dénia has long claimed not only a festive museum, but also a fixed place where all kinds of festive culture events can be held, and with that objective we would project a public space where they could be held from fallas presentations, exhibitions, awards ceremony, or popular dinners, among others ». In addition to festive uses, they propose that "it could serve as a congress center for the university headquarters."

The space would be, as he has commented, «in the style of the Prado de Ondara or the warehouses of the Central Park of Valencia, with rooms adaptable to the needs of the events, although the project would be agreed upon with the associations and would be submitted to a contest of ideas ». From Compromís they consider this place as the most suitable, because it is an accessible, spacious area, with parking, close to the urban nucleus, but also to the festive halls of the Polígono.

More proposals in the area of festive culture

Valen Alcalá, candidate on the Compromís list, has also specified some of the proposals in the area of festive culture. In the sense of enabling and improving spaces for festive associations, Alcalá has specified that Compromís will adapt the current festive space in the Industrial Park warehouses, with fire hydrants, cleaning and asphalting of the surroundings, as well as organizing the parking "since it is an area of much social use and lack of security and cleanliness.

In addition, the candidate has pointed out that a work group would be created to study problems and launch joint performances with local artists, the festive sector and the city council; a license expediting plan would be established to coordinate and facilitate bureaucratic procedures and licenses with festive associations; as well as a specific regulation for the coexistence of the neighborhood with the various local festivals to avoid possible future problems.

On the other hand, Compromís considers that quintadas and quintos could be promoted even more in the Festival for all the neighbourhoods, to have a central meeting space and a fixed schedule of the Music Night in Valencia. They also suggest studying the creation of March 20 as a holiday to value the night of the cremà. And regarding the Feast of Moors and Christians, decorate the routes where the entrances and parades run during the August festival, decorating streets, shops and balconies, with the involvement of neighbors and merchants "as they are done in medieval fairs in some cities".

For its part, maria jose garcia, number 2 on the list, has also commented that sustainability and the commitment of the festive activity to the fight against climate change must be further promoted, "for this reason we will establish an Environment delegation in the festive sphere that is in charge of coordinate, reward and encourage it in this area”.

Finally, Carrió recalled that "starting next week we will be presenting proposals from the different areas coming from citizen contributions, sectoral contributions and from the different open meetings, with presentations open to the public at our headquarters." And he wanted to point out that "our program is the most participatory, open and accessible, since it will be open to proposals from citizens and associations until the end, being able to attend the presentations to contribute, but also send us your proposal through the networks sociales @compromisdenia, to the email compromisdenia@gmail.com or whatsapp 658717850».

And after the party that they go to urinate in the toilets of the bus station in front…..

  2. Sofia Rodriguez Torres says:

It would be better to prepare that space to make a whole and plan for the bus station and train station well needed in Denia

  3. Dani says:

Torrequemada is already a multipurpose space.
What Compromis should do is ask for a better “espai Fester”.
Denia lives on the party and gastronomy.
I think that things like promoting the "red shrimp" or having a Fair with open museums and festive shows would not be bad.
In addition, the tourist motto of the city would have to be changed.
I would propose the motto "Dénia Ciutat de Mar, Mountains and History, I came and discovered it".
But the parties of the CITY COUNCILS OF CHANGE are like that.
    Really, shame on the left.
We must put an end to the traditional left, the "cowardly right" and the extreme right.
I am going to vote for the Communist Party.

Dani, you have managed to get the Germans, Poles and Russians to be freaking out in unison…..talk to them about Communism…but hey, we will always have the “Red Shrimp”.

  4. July says:

If I was thinking of voting compromis, I'm already clear NO.

Another party that supports the drunken party. NO!

In addition, next to the ecopark they already have some ships to get drunk, and their couples. Let them pay for it if they want. To the average citizen who does not like the party or cannot afford it, these chuminadas neither come nor go. POLITICS FOR ALL. NO MORE CASTE FALLERA AND MORO-CHRISTIAN! Let them finance it from their pocket.

    • Daniel González says:

Totally agree, I'm tired of paying an outrageous amount of ibi, plus the huge increase in garbage this year to pay for the party that most of us don't go to and don't come to, where alcohol consumption and other little things are encouraged and the only thing that causes problems , like the happy fires and firecrackers that cause panic and even heart attacks in dogs and cats. Dedicate the high taxes to make real bike lanes, pave the roads, put lighting and sewerage in marinas and montgo, good cleaning and waste service and so on and so on and stop populism and finance the party and beach bars for 4.

    • Ignacio says:

      Totally agree with Julio.
