Competition authorizes the Ribera group to manage 100% of the Denia Health Department from today

08 September 2021 - 18: 02

The Ribera health group manages from today 100% of the Dénia Health Department. Following the agreement reached with DKV last August for the acquisition of its stake in Marina Salud, the competent authority, the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC) has validated the operation. The Valencian health law does not apply in this case because it is much later than the start of the concession.

DKV had until now 65% of the shares of Marina Salud, which now pass into the hands of the Ribera group, which has been part of the project since the beginning of the public-private collaboration for the management of this health department. "This agreement is the result of the natural evolution of a relationship of loyal collaboration with DKV, on the one hand, and of commitment and vocation of service with the citizens of the Denia area and the care of their health, on the other", has assured the CEO of Ribera, Elisa Tarazona.

Tarazona has launched a message of tranquility by ensuring that this operation "will not entail changes in the working conditions of the workforce or in Marina Salud's plans."

For his part, Josep Santacreu, CEO of DKV, stated “we are very satisfied with the management carried out over these 13 years. Not only have we met the objectives that we set ourselves, but we have also substantially improved the quality of health care and we have generated a very positive economic and social impact in the region. We want to thank and congratulate the staff, especially for the management carried out during the pandemic ”.

The Dénia Health Department has a staff of 1.400 professionals, who cover the health care of 163.000 citizens, through a care network that includes Primary Care and the Denia Hospital, as a reference health center.
