How has confinement affected the use and abuse of drugs ?: the new course of UNED Dénia

January 08 from 2021 - 09: 31

The next 14 and 15 January will take place at the UNED Dénia the university extension course "Confined in drugs: how has confinement affected the use and abuse of substances?"

The confinement associated with the COVID-19 pandemic situation has produced certain changes in the habits of consumption of drugs of abuse as well as an increase in psychopathologies and the intake of drugs to alleviate them. Although in general, an increase in the consumption of all drugs has been detected, it seems that there has been less interest in habitual substances in social contexts such as MDMA or cocaine, and a greater consumption of other substances such as alcohol, cannabis, benzodiazepines and new psychostimulants.

In this course, the knowledge of the drugs of abuse most used during confinement will be deepened, as well as the treatment of possible psychopathological problems that this situation has caused in a high percentage of the population.

This activity is related to objective 3 of the United Nations Development Goals.
