Free guided tours begin to visit the Castle of Dénia

The main monument of the city, the castle of Dénia, offers its summer visitors a wide program and schedule to get to know it in depth during the months of July, August and September.

During the summer months, the Ajuntament de Dénia offers visitors access to the castle of Dénia, without additional cost to the price of admission, a program of guided tours of the monument spanning different moments of its history. The programming will be carried out from the 12 from July to the 15 from September, from Tuesday to Saturday, in the morning, afternoon and evening. Finally, the visit around the Duc de Lerma palace and its historical period is scheduled every day at the 21: 15 hours.

During the summer, the castle extends its opening hours to the 00: 30 hours, from Monday to Sunday. The initiative Visit the castle by night / Visit the Castell de nit It offers the possibility of walking through the main itinerary inside the monument between the 20 hours and the 00: 30 hours. In addition, during the campaign, the Archaeological Museum remains open until 22 hours.

Visit the castle by night was launched in 1989 by the hand of the School-workshop Castell de Dénia and the delegation of Culture, with the collaboration of Foto Club Dénia. In recent years, this playful offer and, in turn, linked to cultural heritage, has experienced a progressive increase in the number of visitors that, in 2017, was 11.808 people.
