Colomer highlights "the value of innovating and the proximity 'online' of the Tourist Info of Dénia for its communication strategy in times of COVID"

The regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, has recognized "the value of the Tourist Info offices of Dénia for having known how to innovate breaking routines, as well as for informing, accompanying and guiding tourists, residents and local businessmen, through their communication strategy online in times of restrictions caused by COVID-19 ".

For Colomer, "maintaining communication and continuing to accompany people was a challenge that has been achieved from the Dénia tourist information service".

The head of Turisme pointed out that "it has been a very hard year, but in which we have all found moments of inspiration for new formulas, such as the one we are highlighting today" and that "the tourism sector is the one with the most future, the one that it will never surrender, nor will it relocate from the territory. "

Francesc Colomer has made these statements at the Dénia Tourism Center (CdT), where he has delivered the Tourist Info Dénia and Tourist Info Dénia Consell diplomas, with his project 'Communication Strategy of the Tourist Info Dénia offices aimed at its public objective for the COVID-19 pandemic ', winner of the second prize of the IV Innovation Award in the Tourist Info Network of the Valencian Community 2020.

Also present at this event were the general director of Tourism, Herick Campos; the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt; the person in charge of Tourism of the City Council of Dénia, Pepa Cardona, and formation managers of the CdT Network of Valencian Community Tourism.

The regional secretary has expressed his appreciation to all those who fight in the defense of tourism and that "the innovation proposal is linked in this case to a very specific time and circumstances".

"A Tourist Info office is an embassy of hospitality, the meeting point and communication of the values ​​of a territory" and in Dénia "they have given a lesson in manners and values".

For his part, the mayor of Dénia has indicated that "after the hit of the pandemic we were lucky to be able to work in a more or less normal summer" and the result was "exceptional". According to Grimalt "on the one hand, it served to encourage everyone and on the other, the value of the dedication of the staff was confirmed".

The mayor recalled that "innovation led us to design two campaigns, which together with businessmen, allowed us to remain a prominent destination."

The person in charge of Tourism of the City council of Dénia has emphasized that "after a hard year, we are glimpsing smiles and hope" and has stated that "this recognition of tourism professionals is a push to move forward". In his opinion "this project was the result of the need to find use for our work at a time when everything stopped".

Tourist Info Dénia Offices

The project to which the second prize is awarded represents a global communication strategy in the face of the health alert situation and the Tourist Info Dénia offices become a promoter and reference center for the defined strategy and its implementation. In this way, this project highlights, for example, the specific sections in the destination's tourist portal, actions on social networks, advertising campaigns, launch of new communication tools, instant messaging and 'newsletter', among others.
