Collective business and residents of Dénia join to demand from the Ministry the approval of the NUT

25 June 2018 - 15: 25

Urban planning is still the pending issue in the city of Dénia. Government after government are marked as the objective to finally approve a valid planning for the city, but the truth is that, today, in full 2018, Dénia does not have an active urban plan.

But it is also true that there are two simultaneous plans pending approval. On the one hand, the General Structural Plan drafted by the City Council, which was exposed to the public a few months ago and which is in the phase of answering allegations. On the other hand, the Transitory Urban Regulations, drafted by the Department waiting for approval.

It is precisely these last ones that have joined a dozen business and neighborhood groups of the city of Dénia, who have submitted a letter demanding the approval of these regulations by the Regional Ministry of Territory so that Dénia has regulations to govern prevent the normal operation of buildings or construction licenses.

The drafted document, which has been sent to the Deputy Director General of Territorial Planning, Town Planning and Landscape of the Conselleria d'Habitatge; the General Director of Territorial Planning and the Minister of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory, as well as the Ombudsman, has been signed by the representatives of CEDMA, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Dénia, the Association of Tourist Promoters of Dénia (APTD), the Association of Builders and Related Companies of Dénia, the Association of Hotel and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Marina Alta (AEHTMA), the Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs Dénia, the Polygon Association Juyarco, the Association Historical Center of Dénia, the association Dénia MLS Real Estate and the Official College of Architects of the Valencian Community.

The president of CEDMA, Sonja Dietz, explained that the situation "unfortunate, chaotic, chronic and hopeless" of current urbanism affects companies and workers and their families, and the whole society in general. A situation that states that it will worsen in the month of October, when the period of suspension of licenses ends.

The different groups have agreed that the General Structural Plan, drafted by the City Council, is more "rupturist", remembering that it has not had the consensus and the support of the business groups of the city. However, they see in the NUT a document that respects the urban reality of the city, so it would not involve attributable patrimonial responsibilities.

In this sense, the president of the Association of Tourism Promoters of Dénia, Fernando Tomás, believes that "It seems that the City Council presses so that the NUT is not approved because of the contradictions it presents with the PGE". Antonio Vargas, president of the Association of Builders and Related Companies, has commented that the lack of planning "It does not let us work and citizens prevent them from having their property in conditions, in addition to the fact that the works are more expensive".

Cristina Sellés, president of Aehtma, regretted the "bad image" what this means for Dénia, while Antonio Llopis, president of the Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of Dénia (ACE); has emphasized the difficulties that the lack of a legal framework means for obtaining activity licenses.

Rosario Carrió, president of the Polygon Association Juyarco, has highlighted the relevance of the industrial sector and the lack of land for this activity that "brings stability to employment". For his part, Daniel Costa, president of the Centro Historico de Denia association, highlighted the unity and consensus reached by the different social agents. And on behalf of the demarcation of the Marina Alta of the Official College of Architects of the Comunitat Valenciana, Davinia Català has indicated that "This situation is very harmful to our profession" so that "The dean will issue a public statement of adhesion to this request".
