To make visible the important role of women in the world of the sea, the Department of Equality of the City of Dénia and the Consell de les Dones have agreed to publicly recognize their work in the institutional act of International Women's Day.
Although the day is commemorated each March 8, this year the institutional celebration in Dénia will be on Saturday, 10 March, at 18: 00 hours. The plenary hall of the City Council will host the act that will begin with the reading of the manifesto and will continue with the tribute to this important group of our city.
But it will not be the only act of commemoration of Women's Day in Dénia. The councilor of the area, Elisabet Cardona, shelled the extensive program that has been prepared this year, and that includes talks, demonstrations, theater and activities for the youngest.
Programming of the International Women's Day in Dénia
The events begin the Friday March 2. That day, at the 18: 00 hours, there will be a talk on "Care for women", by Isabel Llorca, president of the Association Amunt Against Cancer. It will be in the multipurpose room of the Social Center of Dénia. That same day, at the 19: 30 hours, the traditional demonstration will be held. The commemorative acts will continue on Friday March 9, with the opening of the exhibition 11 Dones, organized by the Department of Youth that can be seen until the 9 in April in the Sala Joves Art. Also that day, at the 20: 30 hours, will take place the representation of the work Els Monòlegs of the VaginaOrganized by the Filà Almogàvers of Dénia, in the Social Center.
El Saturday, March 10, the Real Club Náutico de Dénia organizes the Women in Sports rowing crossing, which will cover the distance between the club and the end of Les Rotes. It will start at 11:00 in the morning.
The Associated Center for the UNED in Dénia also joins these celebrations, with the Spanish contemporary Pintoras course or those great unknown ones: a great reference of inequality. The days will be imparted 12, 13 and 14 March online or in person.
The events of Women's Day in Dénia will end on Winners will be announced in March, with the celebration of a new edition of Urbajove. The graffiti contest will address Equality on this occasion.
