The Rotary Club of Denia renews its directive for the new exercise

The Rotary Club of Dénia begins a new stage after the formal relay of the Board that was held last Saturday 8 of July. At the ceremony, which was attended by the Governor of 2.203 District, Luis Santos, President Ángeles Asperilla passed the witness to Javier Seguí.

But before the end of the exercise, Ángeles Asperilla made a brief summary of his year and gave recognition to those Rotarians who have stood out for their collaboration during his year, especially to Paco Chapa for his outstanding work in the five avenues of service Rotary.

After receiving the distinction as the new president, Javier Seguí presented to his Board of Directors, formed by Pere Forqués as secretary, Ana Moya as treasurer, Maribel Roselló Font as a macero, Ángeles Asperilla as vice president, Paco Chapa as vice secretary and Lorena Romans as an advisor. In addition, the remaining members of the club will be part of the various committees, because in Rotary clubs, all partners have some work to develop.

As part of Javier's objectives for this Rotary year and following the motto of the Rotary International president, Rotarians in Dénia will be in action to "Make a Difference". Among others, note the documentary to be made by Pau Soler, along with other Associations of Denia, in order to raise awareness of the situation of people with Functional Diversity.

Likewise during this year it is planned to hold a series of conferences open to the general public by well-known speakers. The first, of these lectures, will be the next 28 of September, Thursday, by José Miguel Mulet Salort, Dianense and professor of biotechnology at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Some activities related to sustainable development, environment and climate change are also planned under the motto of the president of Rotary International for this year, the Australian Ian HS Riseley.

It should be noted that this year the Rotary Club of Dénia will celebrate the development during 30 years of the Rotary Exchange program, which has allowed more than one hundred students from Denia and its surroundings to have been able to travel abroad, or to study a whole year School, or to spend a month in summer. The commemoration will take place the next 27 of October, Friday.
