Dénia citizens do not want the social health area fall into oblivion.

Five years have passed since, Ana Kringe announced that the Government would initiate a project of social health area in La Pedrera with which they responded to the claim of the whole region and which endowed the city needed to care for people infrastructure with some kind of disability.

The project, promoted by the City Council and the Ministry of Social Welfare, has never advanced in the legislature, despite seek support from the European Union, apparently without success. And even though in November 2013, all parties supported a proposal to expedite the works, two days after the Consell, only destined to social health area budgets 2014, five thousand euros, to work at least eight million of euros.

Currently the government team, rejects any action on the Pedrera by its high cost, and announce the location of a temporary day center elsewhere in Dénia.

Mari Martínez, Councilor for Citizens in the City of Dénia, has criticized the excuses of the government team on the socio-sanitary area, which they have been promising since this project began in 2009.

For Martinez "the promises should not fall on deaf ears, let alone forget a project so important and vital for Dénia, because it would be turning its back on all the people who care for or cater for people with disabilities".
