Mari Martínez, the mayor of citizens Dénia, has expressed its support for the proposed General Structural Plan, describing it as “Of minimum, sensible and sustainable".

Martinez wanted to advance the position of the party, although it has indicated that it is pending its study in depth, but considers the base as perfectly reasonable and estimates that if there is any correction will be minor and can be made in the allegations.

The mayor wanted to clarify that the population fixed by the plan for the year 2030 of 57.000 inhabitants does not include all the second residences and supposes a conservative horizon from the point of view of the sustainability. "Of course it supposes a dry stop to all the forecasts of growth that have been done previously with plans of until 160.000 inhabitants, and raises the doubt on what was thought until this moment".

Martinez underscored the minimal character of the plan, and the importance of its approval to unlock city planning and start again from scratch. "Although some are selling this plan as a principle and then continue urbanizing, the fact is that the physical limits of growth are defined for the next 20 years. This is the change of attitude that we were demanding".
