Citizens describe as a 'mousetrap' the new law of Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality of the Generalitat Valenciana

Ciudadanos has joined the complaint issued by the Cercle d'Empresaris de la Marina Alta (CEDMA) on the new law of Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality approved by the Generalitat Valenciana last 9 of July. The spokesman for the orange training in Dénia, Sergio Benito, has met this Wednesday with representatives of CEDMA, before whom he has described "Mousetrap" the new regulations.

Sonja Dietz, president of CEDMA, pointed out the real impossibility of obtaining the urban compatibility report, a mandatory document for the legal registration of any home for tourist use. The president has affirmed that "the majority of technicians of the municipalities of the region do not know the conditions to issue the report, but the problem is even more serious in Dénia where the absence of planning completely blocks the issuance of said document".

For its part, Isabel Agulles, vice president of CEDMA and responsible for the Tourism and Commerce commission has explained that without the report no owner can register in the Tourism Registry. Agulles recalled that "We have been working with the administration for years to avoid intrusion, regularize the sector and provide quality this very important tourism industry, and at the last moment we are required an impossible, because the administration itself cannot meet the requirement to issue the reports. This will cause irregular housing to be extended, which implies fines of 100 up to € 600.000 ".

Benito has indicated that judicial rulings guarantee that tourist accommodation can not apply the Environmental Licenses regime and that the solution is to guarantee the rights of all parties in a necessary balance and not to dynamite an entire sector. "When we talk about tourist apartments in the Marina Alta we are not talking about huge vulture funds, we are talking about small owners who have invested their savings in this activity or who even depend on it to spend the rest of the year", has pointed out.
