- Synopsis: In the not too distant future, humanity has been forced to go out in search of new planets to colonize. This journey involves a long journey through space, making it impossible to travel awake, since its duration is 120 years. After much negotiation, the high command of Earth decides to send a group of 5.000 passengers to a distant colony, who will travel in a state of induced sleep inside a spaceship.
The problems begin when, due to a malfunction in the sleep chambers, the malfunction causes a passenger to wake up from hibernation 90 years before reaching their destination. Desperate to find that his cryogenization process has failed, Jim Preston (Chris Pratt), a young mechanic, begins to dwell on the prospect of growing old and dying all alone. Upon reflection, he decides that he prefers company. Thus, he wakes up a young journalist who sleeps next to him. This woman is Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence), a New York writer whose goal is to travel through space in order to later publish her experience in a newspaper. Together they must face the idea of having to spend the rest of their lives alone with each other.
