On September 14, a new solidarity dinner of Dénia will be held Nicaraguan Chingüines, at La Xerna del Mar Restaurant (C / Sandunga, 50), to present and get to know the project better.
Just a few days ago some members have returned from Nicaragua, with lots of new children waiting to be sponsored to improve their quality of life and new projects to undertake there. So all collaboration will be little.
Nicaragua is one of the economically poorest countries in Latin America, it has been a year of deep crisis, with more than 500 dead and recession. Its economy is collapsed, according to the IMF the tension in the country reaches a point that its GDP will decrease by 5% and between 1,9 and 2 millions of people live with less than 1,8 dollars a day.
In a context of these characteristics, and with a 30% of the population under 14 years, a project such as Chigüines of Nicaragua It represents a great hope for many families. Born in 2003, dedicated mainly to the sponsorship of children in Nicaragua, with the primary objective of contributing to their schooling, considering that education is the basis for development and because giving them the possibility of an education is to give them, at least, the opportunity to Have a better life. Therefore, all the means and efforts are dedicated to the construction of schools, the provision of material for students, the search for teachers and, also, all those actions aimed at improving the daily life of communities where there are sponsored children .
Of the 60 children with whom the project began, little by little Chigüines has obtained sponsors for more than 300, distributed in towns and settlements such as Poneloya, Las Varas, Martínez, Bacacán, Nancital, San Esteban, Quiquisque, Cacao o Monte Plan. Those children and their families, and of rebound, the entire community where they live, thanks to a minimum financial contribution from the godparents of 10 euros per month and thanks to all kinds of collaborations, benefit from the set of initiatives undertaken by the Chigüines project.
