Brass bands from across the country will participate in the Third National Contest of Port Rotes Charangas

The third time lucky. Everything seems to indicate that this edition will be the one that consolidates the Port Rotes brass band contest, which was born two years ago with the intention of making the festival more attractive outside the Fallas calendar.

Saturday September 22 the Third National Contest Charangas of Port Rotes, for which applications have been received across the country and in which, for the first time will participate will be held a local brass band.

The organizer of the event, Juanjo Guntiñas, accompanied by officials from the Falla Port Rotes and Councilman parties, Paco Arnau, explained that this year will vary the schedule, starting the contest at 19 hours with the concentration of the brass bands in Glorieta, Where, at 19: 30, they held a parade to the Falla Port Rotes.

Interpretations will begin at 22: 30 with two pieces per charanga: one of freestyle and the forced "Wood" mambo. The jury, formed by music professionals, will rate the parade (10%), the musicality of the mandatory piece (20%) and the originality, the staging and the quality of the free piece (70%) that must have a duration between 12 and 15 minutes.

After midnight, the prizes will be awarded, with the first 600 euros; 300 the second, 150 the third and 75 the fourth. In addition, the best soloist will take their weight in beer boxes.

So far there are 5 registered charangas, and a maximum of 6 will be admitted.
